Project Overview
The tire simulator leverages machine learning to help engineers create optimized compromises that maximize lateral grip. It combines differential curve fitting technologies with existing analytics to continuously improve tire utilization.
Technical Implementation
The design suite was developed for the Lehigh Formula SAE team at request of the team captain. Tire data is imported as raw data and through a collection of programs, functions, and scripts the data is fitted to a curve leveraging MATLABβs magic tire formula. From there the data is exported to generate behavioral modes for the tire.
